Its really nice to get compliments

and its really soothing to the ears and it would really make your day.

example: yesterday, this friend (guo)

he said to this aunty at the foodcourt: "you look really pretty"

The aunty smiled and cleaned the table.

But I just wondered today.

Compliments from different people could mean differently.
Some may mean in a different way too. (haha)
